The official flag of Sardiinia since 1999. Alledgedly it originally came from the 14th century where Sardinia became part of Aragon in Spain who have the faces in their coat of arms. However, at that time it was 4 blindfolded Moorish guys facing left (west towards Spain - now right towards Rome), but allegedly political correctness have changed it over the years - European features, headband, etc. Quite interesting - also that it's the same face in Corsica's flag... | |||||
