I've travelled Southeast Asia extensively in the 1990s and early 2000s so, except Myanmar, it's not really a part of my journey I look forward to ride also because it's hot season - I only do it because around-the-world is around-the-world though that is fairly random as well. When I last travelled here it was still possible to encounter the local cultures without having to go to the most remote regions. I expect it has changed dramatically being much more built up and many locals having adopted the western lifestyle. However, as biking is mostly through the countryside, I still expect to experience the local cultures - especially Myanmar is supposed to be a fantasttic experience because the local culture has not yet been corrupted by western lifestyle.
