The Uzbek border was closed at night so it was quiet until 5am when a handful dogs barked like crazy from 5-6 just outside my tent - at me, each other and whatever tiggered them. When they finally left, I rested ½ hour before getting up to a beautiful sunrise. I walked to the border at 7.50 and to my surprise the Uzbek customs was fairly quick and superficial so ½ hour later I biked the short distance to the Turkmen border. Quick immigration but then - without explantion - the Turkmen customs didn't open until 11. All the people were there all the time - they just didn't do anything but eat, drink and talk..? After another somewhat superficial check (the top of four bags), I was finally on the road at 11.30.... | |||||
