I got up at 6.15 and left some hours later. 15 easy kilometres on the main road before doing a shortcut to connect with the road running south to the border. I had been told it was a fairly bad road, but it would save me 45k (17k instead of 62k) so it seemed worth the risk. A good decision as it turned out that only 5k were very bad while the rest wasn't too bad....
