Monday morning I went to the police (PBS) to apply for visa extension. I had picked Jiayuguan PBS for its reputation of being helpful and English speaking and it turned out to be right. Friendly Rosy guided me through the smooth process - no questions asked. They would process the visa in 3 days and promised to give me 30 days from receiving it - not the day of application which is common. 3 days was a day more that expected but I didn't argue - I was just happy it went so easy...
