It was ridiculous - the double digit sections just continued. It might not have been the day with most elevation gain ever but of all my biking it was surely the day with most double digit inclines - I think 25k + of course all the lessor inclines. I was exhauted and it was getting late, so I was close to hitching a ride still missing 22k. A moped guy passed by showing two fingers and I continued hoping it was my break - 2k to the top? It was another 4k but then (finally) came the long downhill roll to Mae Sot which I reached just before sunset. I found a room and stayed an extra day before crossing the border to Myanmar...
