The Senate which I consider less democratic as every state has an equal number of senators despite the number of people living there (as in USA). It was introduced when the 6 British states formed the Commonwealth of Australia in 1900 as a trade off to get the less populated states to join. It seems out of date but nobody in power will ever give it up...
