The wind became a S sidewind and dropped to 40 k/h so I did 20k in less than an hour on (rare) good road and then slower 25k on a terrible stony/washing board road (a lot of it under construction though nobody worked when I passed). If I didn't know better I would think somebody did a last effort to prevent from reaching Darwin - "prevent him from having water and let his bike and butt suffer on the worst roads in the country"...
