I woke up at 5.30 and left 7.15 which was 8.45 Northern Territory time. They were kind to give me water at the border and I was lucky to find AUD 50 lying in the dirt so a good start of the day. Though it was 9.30 before I got a caravan with a young couple to stop and take my water bottles down the road - not strickly necessary as it was about 200k to Timber Creek but it was easy and nice to have as a backup...
