It was Saturday afternoon with about 130k to Ceduna - the last town before the desert. There was no phone connection so I couldn't find out if there was a bike shop, if it was open and if they had the tire I needed so my immediate reaction was to hitch a ride to check it out this Saturday afternoon (no chance they would be open Sunday). I tried for ½ hour but only one caravan stopped and they couldn't (wouldn't) take me - no room!? So in the end I just headed out to face my fate....
