As I left at 9.15 the clouds was still fantastic. 16 flat kilometres through mostly uninteresting industrial areas, before the main road ended at the highway to Thessaloniki. Finding no other road, I took the highway 4k over a tough hill making me sweat profusely, pushing hard to minimise my time on the highway. Coming down on the other side there were a couple of exits, but riding 40+ k/h, I took the chance and continued another 12k until the exit for Chalkidona...
