To my surprise, I had only lost about 300m elevation in 100k, so it was an easy 300m climb back up to a tunnel/pass after which it was a long steep downhill. I decided to risk it and go 45-50 k/h despite the bad road - still constantly braking which meant several rim-cooling breaks depsite being a cold ride in the shadow of the mountains...
