Like many other tourist destinations around the world, sunrises/sunsets are popular - in Bagan of course from the top of the monuments that are open to climb. However, at this time of year it doesn't really work as the sun comes out of/disappears into a cloud-like haze the first/last ½ hour. So i skipped it also avoiding the big crowds that go anyway...
