Part of the charm riding the countryside is that little has changed - most work is still done the old fashioned way. Very inefficient from a capatalist point of view, but likely greed is not the way forward for us humans - our exploitation of this planet will eventually make us extinct. A better way would be sharing the resources and workload and stop taking more than we need - besides social interaction, shelter and some food will cover the basics....
