It was only 20 so I could have pushed another half hour or more but i was afraid of "running out of trees". Pushing the heavy bike 100 metres off the road was incredibly hard work in the soft sand but necessary to get a bit of privacy (I had to remove my obvious trail in the sand). I should have anticipated the swarms of mosquitoes as fresh blood likely is a rarity out here - the repellent kept them at bay but still annoying so I had a quick dinner and went to bed...
