The good road also made the trucks go much faster and with no shoulder I got squeezed countless times. I previously wrote that Chinese truck drivers are not too bad, but that was when there was a shoulder. Here the reckless and selfish driving kicked in as trucks in both directions squeezed by - they saw the problem and just honked more as if that would solve the problem. No chance I would leave the road and fall over in the gravel/sand. And seriously, if they could wait for other vehicles, why couldn't they do the same for me - the only bicylist they will ever encounter out here...
