After 4k there was a gap in the fence and i crossed over. No main road in sight - only the small dirt road to the right but that could hardly be it. I pushed hard to minimise my illegal highway time so it took ½ hour to ride the 15k to the Shan Dan Xian exit. At the toll gate a policeman looked puzzled but he said nothing as I smiled and rode past him....
