On the way uphill I passed hundreds of wind turbines - a windy place but quite small and far from civilisation so it must entail huge infrastructure cost unless they were somehow connected to an existing grid. I don't think China is really committed to sustainable energy - it is more a question of getting enough energy any way possible...
