I'm curious and open-minded and love to explore and learn new things; especially about other people and myself. I'm fun-loving, easy-going and adventurous with a good sense of humour (at least I think so). I have a positive view on life and people - and I focus on seeing possibilities rather than problems and I see challenges/adversities as learning opportunities. I focus on being honest with myself and others – it makes life so much easier. I listen to other people’s advice and opinions for inspiration but I always make my own decisions. Only I know what is good for me and only I am responsible for my happiness.
I have decided to live life to the fullest, which for me means seizing the day and living in the moment in stead of procrastinating all my dreams until late retirements as is an unfortunate tendency in most so-called developed countries – the problem is that many people die before they get there or are too ill or tired to do the things they really wanted to do in life. If I’m not passionate about what I do and my days are not enjoyable, I have to make some changes in my life – time is one of the most precious things in life which I have to maximise, as I don’t believe in reincarnation and I can’t buy more time if needed.
Mark Twain expresses this in a beautiful way: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover".
Other nice quotes:
- I travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape me
- “Dream as you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.”
-
"Live as if you were to die tomorrow, and learn as if you were to live forever." (Gandhi)
