The path was quite busy with cyclists - partly locals (exercising or going somewhere), but also lots of foreigners particularly elderly Germans either couples or in tour groups. They had little or no luggage, so they must have used proper accommodation and restaurants - and the groups must have had their luggage transported separately. Still better to get out than sit at home and do nothing...
