After 30k, it opened up to countryside and traffic slowed down a little. However, the road was still bad (stony/rough with a number of bumps), so I wasn't surprised when a spoke on my fragile wheel broke after 50k. I had picked this wheel because people had told me the roads would be decent and I still wanted to spare my good Australian wheel whenever possible. I took the chance and continued without fixing the spoke hoping for a somewhat better surface...
