I asked a guy in a gas station for water, but he insisted I drank the water I had. I pointed at the bike and up the mountain to illustrate it wouldn't last long, but to no avail - what an imbecil. Luckily I got water at a police check point shortly after - they "told me" another 27k and 1,000 metres elevation climb to the top at 3,780 metres. The highest point i remembered from my research was 3,300 metres but nothing to do but push on...
