After 16k (10 miles) I came to Marble Canyon Campground where the hosts told me Pavillion had been closed down years ago because of contaminated water. I got water and was heading out to wildcamp when they suggested I stayed at the campground because of the nearby bear; they were leaving and winked so I stayed for free which was nice as it was getting dark.
