I have now finished my 4½ months backpacking trip around the Caribbean taking me to 16 countries/colonies and 19 islands by boat and by air. I have seen a lot of things, travelled through the Caribbean history and explored the beautiful nature, but best of all I have experienced the different cultures and traditions and met numerous friendly and hospitable people - especially through couchsurfing that fortunately turned out to be much easier than expected. You can read much more and enjoy countless pictures on my homepage:

Navigate through my travel descriptions “Caribbean 2012/13” via the dark blue menu bar on the left. Since my last update-mail in December 2012 the new sections are Dominican Republic to Cayman Islands. You're of course most welcome to write in my guestbook and/or send me a personal message as well as referring people you think might be interested to my homepage - see options at the bottom of this mail.
I'm currently in Florida where I have spent 2 weeks updating my homepage and doing the last preparations for my 6 months bicycle trip around/across the US. My preliminary itinerary goes up the east coast to New England, west to Montana, down the Rocky Mountains and west to California where I expect to arrive in the first half of September. In California I will store my bicycle for the Winter while I backpack around South America and when I come back in Spring 2014 I plan to bicycle up to Alaska for another half year. You can read much more about my itinerary, my trip, me and my previous trips on my homepage - enjoy.
I wish you and your family all the best - may you be as fortunate and happy in life as I am.
Best regards, Michael
