Google suggested i rode about 160k (100 miles) along the Erie Canal.....When i arrived at the canal in the evening it was in a summer residential area so i didn't find anybody home... and when it started raining I decided to stop searcing and instead pitch the tent on an old ATV-trail in a small forest close to the canal - not the best place but it kept me dry during the rainy evening and night....
