It was a big and busy road and only occationally with a (poor) shoulder. A couple of times, it turned into an express road I couldn't ride. It was only done because of existing parallel roads through villages and therefore only for a few kilometres at a time. Quite ridiculous as the road was unchanged - either its considered dangerous or not; it shuoldn't be a financial issue...
