From Geneva, I could have headed south to Annecy and Albertville and then up into the Alps. However, I needed as many easy days as possible to get back in shape, so I took a more southwestern route to Grenoble. I was boiling on the big hills out of Geneva and stopped a couple of times to rest in the shade....
