My crank was loose so when I after 20k (13 miles) found a bicycle shop in Thayne (surprisingly as the population was 346) I had them look at it...  No wonder it had been tough riding lately - both bearings were worn down and replacement was long overdue - unfortunately the shop didn't have new ones so I had to settle with having them greased....
