It's not possible to bike all the way around the lake, but with a lot of extra time I could ride around the eastern/soutern part of the lake and maybe take a ferry back from Bauen to Brunnen the next morning. An inquiry revealed that the tourist boat was 28 CHF which seemed quite steep for an hour's ferry ride....
