So in a forest, I went down a sideroad and up abandoned trail. Because of the dense thorn bushes, I carried all my stuff the last 30m up to a lovely open area under some big trees. My map showed no nearby trails, so I was surprised when suddenly a number of mountain bikers raced down a trail only 15m away - there was a small hill between us (photo right) and anyway I' was sure they didn't care. Though windy, it was a pleasant warm evening where I could be out after dark. During the night the wind picked up and it blew a gale, so I was happy to be protected by the big trees...
