I found my two batches of water though the nice people had misunderstood the task and made it into a treasure hunt hiding the bottles far away from the road in the tall grass/scrub and covering them with branches. I also got 3 liters from a nice couple so now I could afford to drink a lot out of pleasure and not necessity - my body immediately felt joyous and invigorated.....
