I had lunch at Wooramel Roadhouse. I talked to the owner who seemed depressed by the life out here. I had been told they wouldn't share water so I had brought enough not to ask. Though she confirmed it by saying the borewater had sent some tourists a week in the hospital - it's of course possible but seems unlikely (unless they had very sensitive stomachs). I'm guessing it's a way of making money selling expensive bottle water....
